What's New - Galil
Galil Introduces the Pocket PLC
The RIO-47xxx is a compact PLC with Ethernet that is smart, easy-to-use and cost-effective. The RIO contains a fast RISC processor for handling I/O logic and is programmed using Galil's intuitive command language or using Galil's Ladder Interface software.
Each RIO unit is self-contained with numerous analog and digital I/O including: 8 analog inputs, 8 analog outputs, 16 optically isolated inputs, 8 highpower isolated outputs and 8 low-power isolated outputs. The RIO-47100 provides 0-5V analog I/O and the RIO-47120 provides configurable +/-10V, +/-5V, 0-5V, or 0-10V analog I/O. Multiple RIO units can be distributed on an Ethernet network allowing I/O expansion. It can also easily communicate with other devices including Galil's DMC-40x0 Ethernet motion controllers.
News Flash: Galil recently enhanced the feature set of their RIO-471xx Pocket PLC to include more Modbus functionality. Modbus is one of the open communication protocols in the automation industry and is supported by a majority of automation devices including PLC's, HMI's, sensors and much more. Open communication protocols, such as Modbus, allow different components from different vendors to communicate with each other.

Accelera Ethernet Motion Controllers
The DMC-40x0 motion controller is Galil's highest performance, stand-alone motion controller. It belongs to Galil's latest generation motion controller family: the Accelera Series, which accepts encoder inputs up to 22 MHz, provides servo update rates as high as 32 kHz, and processes commands as fast as 40 microseconds-10 times the speed of prior generation controllers.
The DMC-40x0 is a full-featured motion controller packaged with optional multi-axis drives in a compact, metal enclosure. The unit operates stand-alone or interfaces to a PC with Ethernet 10/100Base-T or RS23. The controller includes optically isolated I/O, high-power outputs capable of driving brakes or relays, and analog inputs for interfacing to analog sensors. The DMC-40x0 controller and drive unit accepts power from a single 20-80 VDC source. The DMC-40x0 is available in one through eight-axis formats, and each axis is user-configurable for stepper or servo motor operation.
Like all Galil controllers, programming the DMC-40x0 is simplified with two-letter, intuitive commands and a full set of software tools such as GalilTools for servo tuning and analysis. The GalilTools Communication Library provides programming support for C++, VB, C#, Labview etc.

Advanced Motion Control Expands the Z-Series PCB Mount Servo Amplifier Family
Compact design delivers performance equal to or better than larger drives. Designed to be PCB embedded for demanding OEM equipment. No wires and smaller size = less cost and easier installation - just plug'm in.
These servo drives are some of the most popular!
PCB mountable drives started out as a customer request, but when realized the inherent value and flexibility, it was decided to expand the Z-Drive family to be a universal solution. Imagine hooking up a servo drive with no wires! Just incorporate the Z-Drives into your PCB machine design and you will have an unbeatable motion control solution.
Z-Drives are already used in critical applications where high performance and accuracy are essential for success. These versatile drives can be found in the following applications (to name a few):
- Robotics
- Actuators
- Transfer Lines
- Packaging Machines
- Unmanned Vehicles
- Machining Centers
- Medical Devices
- ...and many others!
